REVIEW: Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion for Lips

Hello, loves! Today I have a fun review for you! I have been having problems with my lips being dry, cracked, and–for lack of a better term–rough. The texture is off, and it makes swatching lipsticks a pain. And that’s not fun! So I decided to pick up Murad’s Rapid Collagen Infusion for Lips while I was at Sephora last week and give it a go.

intro to post

For those of you who haven’t heard of this product, you can pick it up at Sephora for $30CAD. It claims to instantly improve the smoothness and texture of your lips. Well, I have photographic evidence to see if this is true or not.

Plain lips Before Murad
This is a picture of just my lips before applying Murad’s Rapid Collagen Infusion for Lips. Please note that in these photos I have only edited the white balance and blurred out the skin around the lips so that you can focus on that rather than my freckles. 🙂

Plain lips after Murad
This is my lips directly after applying the Rapid Collagen Infusion for Lips and letting it dry for a minute. I didn’t apply any lip balm after, but it does say on the package that you can apply this before lipstick, lip balm, or lip gloss.

So what does it look like when used with lipstick? Let’s take a look-see.

Purple lips before Murad
For these pictures, I decided to use MAC lip pencil in Fashion Forward and Heroine lipstick over top. This picture is the lip color without Murad’s Rapid Collagen Infusion for Lips underneath it. You can see the rough texture and dryness that I have been dealing with.

Purple lips after Murad
This is the lip color after using the product. The lines and texture were immediately improved to my liking. It does seem to make the lip color feel a bit more glossy, but it didn’t affect the staying time of the lipstick. I quite like how it feels on my lips.

My verdict? I think this was money well spent. This really does help with the texture and look of my lips. It makes them look less dry and cracked, so my lipstick looks more smooth. This isn’t going to plump your lips and make them look fake. For that, you would have to get lip injections. This product does what it promises, in my opinion. A little bit goes a long way, so you just need a thin layer.

Have you tried this product before? What are your holy grail products for your lips?

Stay beautiful! xoxo
