Hello, lovelies! I hope everyone’s week/weekend has been splendid. It’s so hot here in Toronto right now. Naturally, I love it, but I don’t think most of the Torontonians around me are liking it that much. 🙂
Today, I have a skincare review for you in the form of THEFACESHOP products! I was sent this generous package of products to review, and after using them for a few weeks, I have some thoughts for you.
Skincare is a fickle beast. The success of a skincare brand or line depends on you. Everyone’s skin is very different and reacts differently to things, so keep that in mind when reading my review. I would like to note that the issues with my skin that I am trying to rectify are minor breakouts, uneven skin tone, large pores, and environmental damage.
Before we get started on the review, I have a funny story. So back in January, my workplace had their Christmas party and Secret Santa, and me and my Secret Santa had actually picked each other. We exchanged gifts, and she got me a bag of goodies from THEFACESHOP. When I received this package for review a few weeks ago, one of the products that was in the bag was one that I have been using for several months now due to that Secret Santa exchange. Basically, I could have written a review on that product a while ago, but I wanted to review the whole line.
The product line that I have been sent from THEFACESHOP is the Rice Water Bright cleansing line. I was provided with the O2 Cleansing Foam, the regular Cleansing Foam, the Light Cleansing Oil, and the Cleansing Milk.
The first product I will go into detail about is the O2 Cleansing Foam. The instructions on this bottle tell you to apply it to dry skin, massaging it in, and then rinsing it with lukewarm water. This is the product that I reached for the least. I felt like it cleansed my skin, and I did notice that my skin was brighter after using this, but it’s rather important to put this onto dry skin with dry hands, and I like to wash myself head to toe (literally
) in the shower, and I hate washing my face outside of the shower. I just feel like it takes a lot of extra time for some reason. That’s the main reason I didn’t grab this product as much as the Cleansing Oil and Cleansing Foam.
The next two products are the Light Cleansing Oil and the Cleansing Milk. Both of these products work pretty much the same way: you apply them to dry skin, all over the face, to pick up the day’s makeup and dirt and then rinse off with lukewarm water. I have used both on a regular basis, but I find myself reaching for the Light Cleansing Oil more often then the Cleansing Milk. Let’s talk about why.
The Light Cleansing Oil is a great Step 1 to any skincare routine because it removes heavy makeup and product buildup from the pores. I always follow this with another cleanser to fully clean the skin. I find that I can still feel the oil in my skin if I don’t follow up with something afterwards. The Cleansing Milk is very similar to the Light Cleansing Oil in that it lifts off the makeup and product buildup, but it’s much thicker and tailored for dry skin. In the summer time, my skin is normal to combination, but in the winter time, my skin can get very dry. I noticed a huge difference in the texture of my skin after using both the Cleansing Oil and Milk; I will definitely be grabbing for the Cleansing Milk in the winter months to take my makeup off. It made my skin feel hydrated and smooth, but it was a bit thick for the 30C+ weather we’ve been having here. That’s why I’ve been reaching for the Cleansing Oil instead of the Cleansing Milk.
Last…but certainly not least…the regular Cleansing Foam. I have been using this product for months in my skincare routine, and I do really like it. I find it keeps my face clean, and I’ve noticed my skin becoming a little brighter and more even on a regular basis. It doesn’t break me out, and it feels very clean. This is just a regular cleansing foam that you apply to your face, massage in, and rinse off. I apply this to my face when it is a little damp in the shower and then rinse it off.
All in all, I really like this line of products that THEFACESHOP has to offer. It makes my skin feel clean and even, and it gets rid of the heavy makeup that I apply sometimes. My personal favorites are the Light Cleansing Oil and the regular Cleansing Foam. The rice water in these formulas help keep the skin bright and even, but it is still appropriate for sensitive skin.
Touching on my skincare issues again, this skincare line really helped with my uneven skintone and some minor breakouts. It was a powerhouse against that uneven skintone. One thing that I would like to point out is that, while this line of skincare uses natural infusions and oils in their products, I wouldn’t tout them as an “All Natural” or “Natural” brand. I have seen some great results with these products, but I do wish they had some more natural ingredients.
