Spark Sessions Day 1!

So this weekend was Spark Sessions 2014 blogging conference. It’s a 2-day conference filled with lots of information associated with blogging, networking, and improving your skills. As a new blogger, I was rather apprehensive about registering and taking part. I am so glad I bit the bullet and bought a ticket. Please note that some of these pictures were taken with my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone and some were taken with my Sony NEX-3n camera; that’s why there is a clear difference in some of the quality of the photos.

The weekend was filled with sessions pertaining to making the most out of your social media, how to meet PR representatives, and other juicy things that industry professionals weighed in on. There was also a sponsor fair where products were showcased and demos were done. Check out the picture of me getting my brows filled in on Instagram here. Here are some pictures of displays that were around (sadly, I didn’t get pictures of all of them, but they had some amazing sponsors!).

I don’t know why, but I didn’t get pictures of my outfit on Saturday. Don’t hate me! I think it’s a Freudian slip because I was upset that a blister on one of my toes made wearing heels unbearable so I ended up in flats that day. I had a killer yellow blazer on with my jumpsuit though. I fail as a blogger in this regard though, and I hang my head in shame.

During the first day of the conference, I learned a lot about the sponsors that were there, got some complimentary goodies, and even won a beautiful Stella & Dot necklace from the CrowdSocial booth. I was standing beside their table when my Twitter started chirping at me, and I was super excited.

During Day 1, I met with a lot of the girls with the Canadian Beauty Bloggers Network and had a great time. A group of us went to dinner on Queen St. after and had a great time. By the time I got home though, I was ready to pass out. It was an exhausting day, but it was well worth it, and I had a fantastic time. I met so many wonderful people and it opened so many doors for me.

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post about Day 2 of the conference, and the pictures of my outfit that I actually took!

Stay beautiful, everyone! xoxo
