Hi everyone! Last weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the One of a Kind Show here in Toronto. It was my first time attending, and I was pretty excited. For those of you who have never been, the One of a Kind Show is a place where artisans from Canada and the USA can sell their products. Everyone exhibiting at the show needs to be involved in the creation of their products in some way. Everyone is a small business, and they’re living their best creative life selling these beautiful items that you can’t pick up at a place like Ikea or Walmart. It makes the things you purchase much more special.
About the One of a Kind Show
The One of a Kind Show runs during the spring as well as Christmas time. The theme this year was cherry blossoms, and I was very impressed with how beautiful everything was. I mean, look at this eye-catching photo spot:
In addition to the great aesthetic of the show itself, everyone’s booths were put together meticulously and beautifully. The items on display had such a creative, unique vibe. I had to show some constraint in purchasing too much home decor, but I took some pictures of my favorite booths.
This was a cute booth with some cacti and succulents in these adorable stone plant holders. I bought one that was pink with a gold bottom, and I’m excited to place him on display on my window sill. The vendor unfortunately finished up her business with the One of a Kind Show and is moving on to another business venture, so I do not have her information on here.
Of course, me and my best friend, Elaine, ended up at the Craft Drinks bar for a while. There was craft beer, mead, wine, and some gin in 2 oz. samples. This was a cool spot because these brands were creating their own cocktails that were fun and creative.
If I’m ever attending events like this, I can’t stay away from skincare. I love skincare, and I love researching brands that are handmade and innovative. This show did not disappoint, and here are some products I ended up going home with.
Eauné Antioxidant Facial Toner
This toner is formulated with Sea Buckthorn, Chamomile, Green Tea, and Lemongrass. I have been using it all week, and I love the consistency of it. It smells strongly of the lemongrass, but I’m a fan. It picks up leftover cleanser on my face and preps my skin beautifully for my serums and moisturizer. I will write a more in-depth review after I’ve used it for longer. You can purchase it here, and the prices are very reasonable. This retails for $18CAD.
Sealuxe Seaweed Mask
The Sealuxe Seaweed Mask comes as a powder. Mix this in your hand with water to form a paste, and then leave it on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing. Each bottle holds four face masks and retails for $12CAD. I have used this once, and my results were incredible. My skin was the softest it’s ever been, it felt clean, rejuvenated, and healed. Sealuxe is onto something. I also purchase their bath tea, but it’s not pictured yet, as I left it at a friend’s house. You can purchase the Seaweed Mask here and the Bath Tea here.
The top priority on my list was getting things for my apartment walls. My walls are bare and an off-white color, and they need some love. I’ve been very picky about the vibe I want on my walls. Once I came across The Art of Marina’s booth, I knew this was what I was looking for. I love the feel of her prints, and she was the nicest human ever. These are 11″x17″ and I still need to pick up frames for them. They’re so beautiful though, I can’t rush to pick out frames–I need the perfect ones. If you want to check out more of her work, you can find her here.
I cannot wait for the One of a Kind Show during Christmas time. I feel like it might be very busy, but I’m excited about it. Overall, I’m very happy with my purchases. I was introduced to new brands and companies that I can follow and purchase from down the road as well. My little apartment still needs some love, so I’ll be looking up these vendors again soon!
